One of my favorite website amongst them is Twitter. I found twitter a very good website to build thematic network and market my products / services. It’s a lovely website but most of people fail to use it effectively. So today, I would like to give you some insights on how to use Twitter effectively and efficiently.

For followers & following:

• Get as much as followers possible so that you can share your thoughts and information with more persons. You can drive followers through:
  • Invite people you already know via https://twitter.com/invitations
  • Including twitter section in your newsletter marketing.
  • Including a small twitter section on your blog/website, showing your social profiles
  • Search for people twittering about our thematic topics @ http://search.twitter.com

• Following profiles who are already involved in same industry as you are, because:
  • You can get to know your competitors information they are sharing with their followers
  • You can transfer their to your.

For Twittering:

Do’s:

• Write in short and simple, as Twitter has 140 character limit per tweet.
• Always we need to stay disciplined with our core objectives
• Always give original and useful information
• Keep monitor your “Reply Ratio”.
• We should always send direct message, when our conversation is individual targeted.
• Ask question and take feedback’s to/from followers
• Always be active, keep twittering daily.
• Promote your twitter RSS feed
• Pick an avatar and design a profile page that displays your brand image
• Find conversations already going on about your topics. Search it with www.tweetscan.com
• http://twitter.com/badges – official twitter badges to put on our website

Don’t:

• Never be a self centered twitterer
• We should not tweet only offers and deals.
• If twitter is used for business, you should not tweet daily routine activities.
• Twitter uses rel=nofollow so don’t use too much links for SEO benefit
