In my last post I showed you how you can gather the visitor’s data of your website through Google Analytics. I hope you are now clear about it. If not, click here to read my last post.
Today I will try to write something on what should you do, once you have installed Google Analytics on your website. First and foremost thing you should do is find out Key Performance Indicator (KPI) of your website.
Key Performance Indicators are quantifiable measurements, agreed to beforehand, that reflect the critical success factors of an organization. Key Performance Indicators, also known as Key Success Indicators (KSI), help an organization to define and measure progress toward organizational goals. Ideally it’s a completion of specific online goal (booking, quote request, download, etc.).
Once you have identified the KPI of your website, you can configure it as a Goal in Google Analytics. This will help you to easily monitor how well your website is performing. You can configure Goal conversion by following easy steps sited below:
- Login to Google Analytics
- Click on “Edit”, located under setting column
- Check the second option, its “Conversion Goals and Funnel”
- Click on “Edit”, located under setting column, besides G1

- Enter Goal Information in 1st part

- Enter the URLs of mandatory steps to be completed before the goal conversion occurs or you can also give URL of goal completion page directly in the last column (Goal) without any mandatory steps.
- Also write Goal name besides the URL column (as you can configure more then one goal conversions).
- Click on Save Changes
That’s it. With this now you should have configured the goal conversion.
Before concluding this post, let me take you to flash back of Google Analytics.
