After a huge success of Twitter, Yahoo has launched its own micro blogging service called Yahoo Meme. Today morning I got invitation from Yahoo to sing up for Yahoo Meme account. It’s currently in private beta testing and it is unclear when it will be publicly available. So instead of calling it a Twitter clone, It should be named as “twitter killer”.

Yahoo Meme can be described as similar to Twitter with its short posts (but without limit of 140 characters), the ability to repost messages from other users, and with additional ability to share photos and video.

What does Meme mean?

A “meme” is commonly known in the web as some kind of content that spreads fast and draws everyone’s attention.

Yahoo says:

Meme from Yahoo! hopes to be an efficient “memeplex”. In other words, somewhere to multiply and distribute fragments of information. These fragments, or “memes”, travel from one person to another and survive through their own merits or circumstances. They evolve, suffer mutations and some may even get to be very famous.

Like Twitter, you can search other people’s public accounts and follow them, with updates from these users appearing in your stream. So go to Yahoo Meme and submit your email address, soon Yahoo will send you invitation too for sing up.

Conclusion:
